No Iron in blood

Was feeling tired and had lots of headaches had blood tested and had no iron. I am on tables to increase iron! Please can you tell me what would cause one not to have any iron in my blood?
Is it a gradual process - did have a baby in February - would this also cause low iron?

AP, pregnancy and blood loss are the most common causes of low iron levels in young women. Just have your iron levels checked after three months just to make sure that it isn’t due to something else. Good luck.
