Neuritis

Some time ago I experienced something which felt like an electric shock sensation whenever I streched the fingers of my left hand, or when I bent my one knee. I was referred by my GP to a neurologist who diagnosed my problem as "sensoriese-motoriese neuritis." He prescribed medication and the symptoms dissipated over the following weeks. However, it appeared again in my left hand as well as my left knee, only now it is a tingling sensation instead of a sudden jolt. I was diagnosed with an undefined auto immune disease (possibly RA) resulting in poly-arthritis and had various tests done including blood, X-rays, scans etc. and are still under the care of a specialist surgeon-rheumatologist with more test to come next year. Could there be a connection between the two diseases? (I have not seen the doc again to discuss this sensation in my hand and heel with him). I am 56, not overweight at all and exercise as much as possible. Thank you so much.
