Hi Hans

There are many great programs out there, but also many fads and money sucking scams.

THe best diet would be one that is balanced in the correct amount of carbs, protein and unsaturated fats.

I would recomned that you try out the Body for LIFE program, its a brilliant starter program that will help u understand all you need to know to get and keep in shape. You can read more about BFL in our online forum at Getfit . co . za. THere are many past BFL'rs there that will help you understand the program and give you more tips and advcie :)
