movement of baby

i am 18 weeks pregnant and am very worried as i am not feeling any movement from baby.

what does it feel like as i dont know cos i am a first time mom.

is it like some light tapping going on inside of you.

do u feel it often throughtout the day or just once or twice a day.

pls help.

It is still early to feel movements. Initially they feel like light flutterings and are occasional. As the pregnancy advances you will feel more deifine kicks more frequently.

Don't panic, movement can be felt anywhere from 16 -22 weeks. With first time pregnancies it takes a little longer as you don't know what to expect and your uterus is not as stretched, sensitive and supple. It is described in many different ways but the most common is like butterflies in your stomach. The first few movements are also so subtle that you may miss them at first:)
