MOTORBIKE EXHAUST BURN

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO TREAT AN EXHAUST BURN?

MY PHARMACIST SAID THAT WE MUST APPLY A SPECIAL OINTMENT/CREAM AND KEEP IT COVERED WITH PLAIN GAUZE AND A BANDAGE.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT EVERY TIME NEW MEDICATION HAS TO BE APPLIED, THE GAUZE PULLS THE 'SCAB' OFF.
SHOULD THIS BE HAPPENING, OR SHOULD WE LEAVE THE WOUND OPEN TO DRY OUT AND ONLY APPLY THE MEDICATION??

PLEASE ADVISE.

Joan, the best would be to first cover the wound with paraffin gauze (Jellonet®) and then apply the ointment and bandage. Good luck.
