Miscarried one twin

Why is it that when you are pregnant with one foetus and you miscarry then you go to theatre to be cleaned, and yet when you are carrying twins and loose the other twin you cant be cleaned especially if one is still in the womb. Isn’ t the other sac going to be septic since the foetus didn’ t make it.

There are problems in this situation, but obviously you can't have a womb scrape as the other fetus will then be lost. The pregnancy needs to be monitored very carefully.
Best wishes

If you miscarry one twin and then have a D& C to clean out the womb you will be aborting the other twin.

A D& C is not always done after a miscarriage, if it can be seen on scan that everything has come away cleanly then its OK not to do one. I have had a miscarriage and not had a D& C done.
