Mirena and Cyclidox

Hi,

I had a Mirena inserted in April 2011. I have been presribed Cyclidox for 30 days to treat a skin infection. Will the Cyclidox impede the Mirena in preventing pregnancy, as antibiotics do with other oral contraceptives?

Thank you!

Hi Mary

No, using antibiotics shouldn't cause the IUD (Mirena) to lose its effectiveness.
