Dear Marina
He should please see a neurologist - these "mini strokes" or TIA's ( transient ischemic attacks) are sometimes a warning that a major stroke is on its way and if you start treating preventatively, you can avoid this. This is often caused not by a bleed but by a piece of cholesterol that came loose in one of the arteries. They need to have sonar of the carotid arteries and a brainscan to determine which preventative medication would work best.

How do you know it was a mini-stroke? Was this confirmed by a doctor? He should be seeing a doctor asap anyway. There is no way of knowing whether one has a brain clot without having a brain scan.
