Low GI question

Good day,

I would like to know if cup a soup lite is good for a low GI snack. What can be substituted for fish fingers and toast for breakfast (except egg).

Thanks

Dear Lisa
The SA Glycemic Index & load Guide, does not list the GI of "Cup of soup lite". Canned tomato soup has a low GI of 38 and canned pea soup has a medium GI of 66. You can have low-GI All Bran with low-fat yoghurt or milk or yoghurt with fruit or low-GI bread/ProVitas with fat-free cottage cheese or even 1 tablespoon of melted cheddar cheese, thin slices of lean meat of fish cakes made with cooked or canned fish, egg and herbs/spices cooked in a non-stick pan.
