Our expert says:
Unfortunately, LH by itself is not a sensitive enough marker for ovarian reserve. In general, an FSH should be done together with LH and other ovarian hormones to more accurately evaluate ovarian reserve. Another marker called Inhibin B is regarded as even more accurate, but unfortunately is not available commercially in most pathology laboratories in South Africa. The LH and FSH levels exceeding 10 is indicative of diminished ovarian reserve and certainly levels above 15 would pose a problem for assisted reproductive techniques.
