Hi Johan - sorry this is in English but my Afrikaans is baie swak! If both are unneutered/spayed it could be a personality clash or the male is trying to establish dominance over the female cat. Does the male cat start the fight when you are in the room? They often tend to do this when they are aware you are watching. Best best for the long term is to call an Animal Behaviouralist in - to prevent this becoming a long term habit. They will also be able to study your cats' behaviour in person to determine the cause.
