My daughter was in a long term relationship and got chlymadia from this guy. They broke up and she immediately went on the pill. She hasn' t had sex in a year. She is on holiday and one day she forgot the pill and took 2 the next day and also is not taking her pill at the same time each day because she is on holiday - various between 3 &  4 hours later. She had her period on the 14 June - just after her period had sex with her new boyfriend and got thrush. We treated this with cream and it has gone away but her wee smells terrible and she is in the inactive row of her pill but no period. Tomorrow is the last pill of the inactive period and we are worried that she hasn' t had her period yet.

Would have made more sense for her to have gone on the pill long before breaking up with him, wouldn't it ? ANd why, if she genuinely hasn't had sex in a year, has she been taking the pill now ? And how does she manage to choose boyfriends who give her STD ? Apart from the fact that she sounds riskily disorganized in terms of her sex life and contraception, she needs to see a least a GP and maybe a gynae to sort out her contraception and other issues --- maybe she has a urinary infection.

A pregnancy might be the least of your problems now - maybe she has a severe bladder infection or a vaginal infection. She needs to get to a gynae as soon as possible. She is behaving very irresponsibly by having unprotected sex. The Pill does not protect one from STDs and HIV. " No glove (condom) no love!"

If she talks so openly with you why don' t you teach her about condoms too? One would think that she would have learned with the first STD, has she been tested for HIV?
