info on ionizing radiation

dear doctor
i am 47, G3P3. # Ca Thyroid 1993 [pappillary]
thyroidectomy, radiation x2, metastases x2. last surgery in 2002. on diotroxin 3 p/day
reported as occupational disease in 2004., due to ionizing radiation during training years in 70 - 80's at Groote Schuur. My claim was declined and I appealed. Hearing will now be on 24 April.
When all this started [WCA] I contacted your website and a very kind doctor referred me to Tygerberg hospital. This doctor [TBH] is willingly to testify on my behalf.
But I need more info on the dangers of ionizinig radiation. Where can I go to or get literature?I need to be very good prepared and will have to show provement of my info.

NB/; I worked in the gynae theatre where they implanted radium rods for Ca Cx. My last born [ 20 years] is handicapped seeing that he can't talk,,slight mental retardation, can't read or write either. It seems to me that hypothyroidsm during pregnancy could be a cause. But I first want to get through the hearing!
SO : IF YOU CAN PLEASE SUPPLY ME WITH THE RELEVANT INFO.
Thank you

It may also help to talk to a radiologist or radiographer in your area?
