Infection - causes muscles to spasm

a friend, she had a throat infection which went into her legs and caused her so much pain she couldnt walk or drive. she went to hospital and they dont know what the problem is. just that any infection she gets, will effect her muscles? what could it be, or cause it and what can she do?

a bacterial infection of the throat would not cause cramping but can cause joint pain - they need to do a blood test called ASO titre to check for rheumatic fever. Hopefully she is on antibiotics already.
