Our expert says:
you can get STI's and HIV from oral sex, but the risks are thought to be much lower than anal or vaginal intercourse. The best way to avoid these problems are to minimise the number partners you have or use a condom (although the condom does not stop the female infecting their partner via vaginal oral sex of course).
A good website to get information from is www.cdc.gov - Centres for Disease Control and Prevention
Under Health & Safety Topics click on Diseases & Conditions and you will find sections on both HIV/AIDS and STI's
