Our expert says:
The best way to assess the uterine septum from a diagnostic as well as therapeutic perspective is to combine both diagnostic procedures together with a Laparoscopy if feasible. It is important to distinguish the uterine septum from another condition called a bicorneal uterus and this method of treatment is fairly different for each case. Should a hysteroscopy be combined with a laparoscopy this may obviate the need for a HSG and occasionally the problem can be dealt with at the same time.
