What is the cost of this vaccine and must it be done at gynae
or can the GP give it

Hi Loly

It' s a course of 3 injections given over a period of 6 months. They add up to about R2000 by the time you' re done. You can go to a normal Dr or even a nursing sister for it, but you do need to get a Dr' s prescription for it first (just as you would for scheduled medicine from a pharmacy). Phone your medical aid &  doctor to find out the exact costs and how much med aid would cover.
