how much......??

Hi dietdoc

just a quick question- if i eat really badly for one or two days during one week... and i get back to normal really healthy eating for the next weeks, will i put on weight? also is it possible to put on weight in one day? or like eating fruit and veg all day and maybe having like a crunchie (oat one) or a small rusk in the evening will i gain weight? i know it depends on height, age etc, but in general? ps. im 17 years old. and oh sorry, are raisins fattening?

Please don't become obsessed with your weight. You are at the age when you can easily fall into the trap which leads to eating disorders like anorexia. It is also totally soul destroying to weigh yourself every day. Weigh yourself once a week at more or less the same time, e.g. early on Monday mornings, because one's weight varies from day to day and from morning to evening. It is quite possible for your weight to vary by as much as 3 kg form day to day and morning to evening. Don't start getting guilt feelings about food because before you know, you will be purging yourself after eating to punish yourself for sinning by eating so badly. Click on 'Diet' and 'View old Diet & food site' and please read the articles on 'Balanced Diet I-IV' so see what you should be eating. Raisins are relatively high in energy because they have a low water content, but if you eat about a tablespoon once or twice a day, they will not make you fat.
