The RDA for cholesterol is 300 mg a day. The whole egg you are eating will probably contain about 210 mg of cholesterol on average, i.e. 70% of the RDA. Egg white is free of cholesterol. Seeing that other foods also contain cholesterol (meat, fish, whole milk and cheese), the SA Hear Foundation recommends that adults should not eat more than 4 whole eggs a week.
