How long a rest period in between sets?

Hi firstly thank you for the begginers gym program. I just wanted to know how long i should leave between sets. I am interested in toning to begin with should it be around 30-40 seconds?

You rest 30 to 40 seconds between sets yes, and 1 minute between sets of different exercises.
