It'd be interesting to hear how other readers manage to deal with this, as anyone who likes absolutely everyone at their workplace is surely either amazingly easily satisfied, or they haven't met everyone there yet ! Surely one of the requirements for managing this necessary process, is to start by not expecting to like everyone --- it's a workplace, a gathering of different folks hopefully working together to achieve some particular purpose, not a dinner party where one might reasonably expect to select guests who will like each other. At least this way one can avoid that feeling of protest or indignation that they're not always cuddly and loveable, or even competent. And then at least they can't fall short of your expectations, and if any turn out to be better than you expected, that's a lovely bonus.
Dealing with specifically unreasonable obnoxious folks at work, is a topic we've dealt with many times, een in the last year, so check out the Forum Archive for specific examples.
