I don't think there's any general rule about it. It depends on how much he smokes and how it affects him. If he has become an employed professional, presumably it hadn't affected him badly. Dagga isn;t really good for our brain, in the long term ; and of course it's even worse for our lungs than cigarettes / tobaco.
