HIV/Aids

hi,

Last year there was a lady who passed on because of Aids related illness, so shortly after that our boss sugested that we get tested and he will ask his doctor to do the service for free, i refused bcause if this guy is his personal friend and doctor then our confidentiality is at risk.

How do we educate employees without forcing them to test, how can we address the isuue of HIV at the work place. what i realized was that our managers also were not informed about this desease.

No employee can be forced to have ANY test. The employer should enlist the services of an expert to meet with the employee and conduct education sessions, train those interested in becoming peer educators and then offer voluntary HOV testing conducted confidentially by an external agency.
