HIV TRANSMISSION

Hi Doc,

On reading some of the comments above on the possible exposure to HIV if someone spits blood into a person's eye, I couldn't help but wonder if it is also possible to contract HIV if while talking to somebody who is HIV positive, some of their saliva spray (which may contain blood if they suffer from bleeding gums) got into a person's eye?

Thank you very much,

JP, it is a small theoretical possibility, but practically it doesn’t happen. Good luck.
