Our expert says:
Teenagers often lose their so-called 'puppy fat' when they go through the growth spurt and get taller. However, if you are overweight then I would recommend that you cut out all junk food and sweetened cold drinks and do plenty of regular, daily exercise like swimming, cycling, playing sport or joining a gym. Don't go on a drastic diet until you have stopped growing because you still need the nutrients from a balanced diet at the moment for normal growth (e.g. calcium, protein, etc). But get as active as possible.
