High estrogen levels

My wife , 50 years old, has very high estrogen levels, normally only seen in pregnant women, according to her gynaecolgist. She had a hysterectomy about 12 years ago, and was sterilised about 17 years ago. What can cause this, and how can it be treated? She does not use any HRT.

That is quite worrying. she needs to be sure she does not have an estrogen producing growth on the ovary or any of the other endocrine organs. Have the gynae check this out
