Heart palputations

Hi Doc I am new to this forum but would really apreciate your input as I have had no satisfactory response from my GP.
My problem is that sometimes after eating and when relaxing I start to feel as though I am starting to get a kind of a panic attack I can feel a pounding in my hchest and I feel as though I am releasing adrenalin into my system in very small amounts this gives me a headach for a few seconds and then it will go away for a few minutes befor starting again.I control the affects completely by taking a Lansoloc tablet daily before breakfast but if I forget I will suffer the whole day. It seems worse if I eat bread
, cake or muffins this whole episode started 3 years ago when I stopped smoking. I am Male fairly healthy 105kgs and 50years old please enlighten me as to what is going on inside me.Thanks Paul

Dear Paul
You did not say if you had any previous gastric surgery but this sounds like "dumping syndrome" to me. Nicotine does affect the stomach muscle so maybe something went wrong there?

You have to manage this by changing your diet - smaller meals, no high fat, high sugar stuff except after a low fat, low sugar meal.
