what type of blood test would i have to undergo to check what the reason is for my hair loss?

Hair loss in a male have numerous causes. One has to exclude local infections of the hair follicles with subsequent destruction, hormonal imbalances like low thyroid hormone levels, etc. Therefore it is best to consult a dermatologist and work from there.
