My one goldfish acted very strange. The fin on his back was pushed back so that it was flat on his back. He stopped eating and spit the food out. After 2 days, he died. What could have been the problem? There were no outside abnormalities or skin defects. The other goldfish in the tank seems happy.

Unfortunately it is difficult to tell what could have been wrong from your description. An autopsy would have been helpful. Please have your water quality checked, as fish often succumb to illness due to a supressed immune system due to poor water quality.

Normally the first signs that a fish is not fine is the fact that the fin on the back lies down.

There are so many illnesses that they can get, it would be hard to say which one, without seeing the fish.

It could have been "dropsy" (not sure how they spell it)

Better take precautions to protect your other fish.

Good Luck
