Our expert says:
It is certainly possible to assess the ovarian reserves and to indirectly predict the type of ovarian response one can expect with stimulation drugs. However, the absolute quality of the eggs may be difficult to predict, as this is more a microscopic diagnosis. It is important also to note at this point that the pregnancy rates with conventional IVF in this day and age exceeds that of GIFT and therefore I would strongly urge you to reconsider your options. Under rare conditions where embryo transfer may be a major problem, GIFT may be advantageous, but it is advisable that you research this issue more carefully and discuss it with your fertility specialist.
