Genital Herpes can be caused by both type 1 and 2 Herpes virus. Type 1 is what normally causes the herpes outbreak on the mouth but this can be transmitted to the genital area through oral sex to cause a genital outbreak. In this case the outbreaks are usually milder and less frequent. Genital Herpes type 2 is the most common cause for genital herpes and these outbreaks are more severe and more frequent, especially during the first 2 years after infection.
Normally anti-viral medication is used to treat Genital Herpes.
Natural medicine does have some effective remedies that are also anti-viral and effective in reducing outbreaks.
The most beneficial research has shown that using topical applications of Lemon Balm (melissa officinalis), Aloe vera, zinc ointment, Propolis can reduce outbreaks. Of these Lemon Balm would be the first choice. Contact a Naturopath or Pharmacist in your area to make up a herbal ointment for you and use during and after an outbreak, this will decrease further outbreaks.
As prevention supplementation with an amino acid Lysine has been found to be beneficial in some people, but this is not effective if only used during an outbreak.
These remedies will help in regards to the outbreaks, but will not stop any viral shedding, transmission of the virus is still possible so use appropriate sexual protection to prevent infection to or from a partner.
In general it is also advisable to improve nutrition and lifestyle to promote a healthy immune function, so keep to a minimum the common sense immune stressors such as smoking, alcohol, refined foods, unhealthy fats; and ensure that fruits, vegetables, health fibre rich grains and good lean proteins form 80% of the diet, as well as follow a regular moderate exercise program.

Get Diamond Herpanicine. You can do a search on the internet to buy direct or get it at most health food stores. It takes a few months to work but this stuff reduces outbreaks almost for good. Why do I say almost? Because if you slip up taking the dosages, it's likely you'll have an outbreak.
