Generic

Is it ok to take the generic form of a medicine once prescribed by gynae to treat infections at 18 wks pregnancy? Is generic perhaps bad or does it contain more substances than the original drug prescribed?

Pls let me know, cannot remember the name of the antibiotic but the pharmacist gave it willingly and said there should be no problems after the 1st trimester just not sure and would like to know for future the status of generic drugs???

Generics are fine. They contain the same active ingredient as the original and would not be harmful to the pregnancy if the original is not contraindictaed.
