Dear Charline

FSH levels fluctuate virtually daily in a particular menstrual cycle. Hence it is important to look at the early cycle FSH levels i.e. day 2. If however a hormone profile is done at any other time of the menstrual cycle the FSH value has to be correlated with the other hormone levels such as oestradiol, progesterone and LH levels. This will give a better idea of the stage of the menstrual cycle and the synchronicity between the various hormones. And absolute day 2 FSH above 12 in our centre is considered abnormal and is an indication of ovarian resistance.
