Food = sleepy

Food contains and give you energy right? Then why after a meal do i feel tired and really really sluggish? doesnt make sense to me? i should be wanting to run a marathon or do something active with that energy, but the total opposite happens. why is this?

SoccerStar, it might be that after a meal you secrete a little too much insulin and this may cause your blood sugar to fall and make you sleepy. This is called postprandial hypoglycaemia and is usually nothing serious, but the best would be to see your doctor and to have him make sure that nothing serious is the matter. Good luck.
