Fluid in Abdomen, distended abdomen.

An ultrasound exam confirmed a cystic type mass near ovaries on right lower abdomen, plus lots of fluid in abdomen, abdomen is extremely distended and lot of belching occurs. No nausea or bleeding at this stage. Please note that the womb but not the ovaries were removed in 2005 because the bladder had "fallen down", and bladder was restitched to sides. The woman concerned is 58 years old. Please help. What could be the problem? What treatments available without surgery?

I think that she would have to have surgery to make a diagnosis. Ovarian cancer is a possibility and this needs to be excluded.
