Flu and exercise

2 Questions:
1. How soon after having flu can you exercise and
2. A cold with coughing and sore chest - should you also avoid exercise with this type of infection and for how long?

Hi Paul
You should not exercise with fever, or sore muscles or when you get short of breath. As soon as these symptoms disappear, you can start with your programme again - but slowly.

2 - yes definitely, especially if you are talking about strenuous stuff like cycling or gym - rather wait until your symptoms are better otherwise you could put strain on your heart, something you dont want do do!

But then gentle walking probably wont harm you, as long as you keep warm and stop as soon as you get any chest pain!
