Our expert says:
Your present BMI = 34,4 which is indeed high. It would help a great deal if you could lose weight. To get back into the normal range with a BMI of 25 you would need to weigh 64 kg! Because you have IBS, I would like to recommend that you consult a clinical dietitian (visit the Association for Dietetics in SA Website at: www.adsa.org.za and click on "Find a Dietitian" to find a dietitian in your area), so that he/she can work out a specific diet prescription for you that not only makes you lose weight, but also helps to alleviate the symptoms of the IBS. The exercises you are doing are excellent, but you also need to reduce your energy intake with a low-fat energy-reduced diet. The dietitian will work out the diet for you.
