Our expert says:
getaway -- Isn't that a magazine ? Generally speaking, it would usually be beneficial for a normal family to spend a bit more time together, enjoyably. Mind you, for families already deeply involved in conflict, it doesn't always work, as such a "break" may just give them too much time together to spend on quarrelling, without the normal intrusions of life, work and other duties, providing some break from conflict ! Not every famil enjoys long weekends or Christmas, for just this sort of reason. So it may help prevent problems from arising in the first place, and help a family to bond better, but it isn't usually enough on it's own, to solve pre-existing problems.
