Eating the right foods

My son is 3 years old. He only ever wants to eat "pap", weetbix, pronutro, cornflakes. Also, he only wants to eat starchy foods, pasta, spaghetti, bread, etc.

He never wants to eat meat and vegies.
How can i get him to eat his vegies and red meat.

Please help.

Dear Nats
Toddlers can be very difficult and get into phases where they just eat one type of food. You can only keep on giving him small portions of meat and vegies every day and encourage him to try them in a non-stressful way. Even if he only eats 1 teaspoon of a 'new' food you should praise him and tell him what a good and clever boy he is. Once you have got him to eat 1 t you can gradually encourage him to have 2 t, etc. If he is not enthusiastic about vegies, offer him fruit instead as a taste for vegies often takes a long time to develop. For more information about Toddler Nutrition, click on 'Child' at the top of this page and then on 'Nutrition' and read the articles on 'Toddlers'.
Good luck
