I don't see much chance of helping any drig addict unless they sincerely WANT to stop abusing and being abused by the drugs. If they do want this, then they'd do best to be seen for assessment at their nearest effective drug rehab clinic, and start with a rehab program to help them stop taking whatever drug it is, and then continue with support from a counsellor and maybe, if available, a support group, to handle the most important phase --- staying stopped. Returning to normal life is indeed possible, if the person really wants to and is prepared to work at it
