Does Active Immunisation help?

Hi all,

has anyone any experience of active immunisation (AI) as a method of treatng infertility that they could share?

I ask because my wife and I are at our wits end...

We have had 5 unsuccessful attempts at IVF/ICSI over the last three years and following tests have been recommended to undertake AI.
On three occasions, my wife was initially clinically pregnant (elevated levels of HCG et al) but then misscarried very shortly after implantation.
This has been identifed (following extensive blood tests) as an immunoinfertility issue whereby my wife''s body rejects the ''alien'' cells.

We would like to know if it makes sense to start this treatment.

Many thanks

Dear Paul

I would not recommend active immunization as this has not been shown to be consistently effective. Perhaps you could consider the use of intra-lipid therapy as the results are very similar to immunoglobulin therapy and is certainly more cost effective.
