Dear Rose
Generally speaking a dietitian is someone who has studied Dietetics (including diet therapy for the treatment of diseases such as HIV/AIDS), while a nutritionist can be an individual who has studied in fields such as medicine, pharmacology, biochemistry, etc, and has developed an interest and expertise on the subject of nutrition. For your purposes a dietitian would be indicated. I would recommend that you discuss your needs for a dietitian with the Head Office of the Association for Dietetics in SA (ADSA). Phone them at: (011) 789-6621 or send them an e-mail at: adsa@iafrica/com
You can also visit the ADSA Website at: and click on "Find a Dietitian" to find a dietitian in your area.
Best regards
