Dear Tom
Seeing that herpes is caused by a virus, you need to boost your immune system by eating plenty of foods that contain protective nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and bioflavonoids: fresh fruit, vegetables, unprocessed grains and cereal, legumes and low-fat milk and dairy. You can also try boosting your immune system with omega-3 fatty acids by taking salmon oil capsules. The use of so-called probiotics (good bugs) is also known to boost the immune system - you can try Intestiflora or Intestiforte which you can buy at health shops. I trust that you are also being treated with antiviral medication such as Zovirax?
Best regards
