Diabetic problems

My mom is diabetic and she has a terrible pain in her back. (She is overweight)When she found out she was diabetic she started eating right and so forth and she is using insulan everyday. She falls asleep while she is still talking to you and at work, is this part of her Diabetic sickness or could it be something else.

Dear Zelna
Yes it could be that her sugar goes too low or too high, she may have a kidney infection that throws her sugar levels out - let your doctor check? Can she test her blood sugar herself?

Yes she does have a machine to test. But the pain that she is under can't be right. The dr says he can't find anything wrong.
