Diabetes with irregular heartbeat, bloating & sleep apnea

My husband has been a grade 2 Diabetic for 3 years. He is less than compliant, but his sugar levels seldom go higher than 10. Since the beginning he has had skipped heartbeats, which cause symptoms similar to a panic attack. He also gets very bloated. The heart discomfort lasts for up to 3 weeks at a time and then will go away for a week to 6 weeks with no symptoms. He has had several ECGs, where the skipped beat shows up, but doctors and physicians have not seemed to take it seriously - basically saying he just has to live with it. Lately the irregular beat has caused sleep apnea.

All of this leaves him feeling very tired, grumpy and hopeless. Please help.

Thanks
Marita

Marita, the irregular heartbeat might not be so serious, but the same can’t be said for the sleep apnoea. The sleep apnoea together with the irregular heartbeat may be a sign of and/or lead to serious problems. The best would be to get a second opinion from a different specialist physician. Good luck.
