Dear 007
Type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent) can be vastly improved if the patient loses weight and eat the correct diet and does plenty of aerobic exercise. In some cases patients have been able to stop taking their medication and just control their type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise. If you have not yet consulted a clinical dietitian, then please do so (visit the Association for Dietetics in SA Website at: www.adsa.org.za and click on "Find a Dietitian" to find a dietitian in your area). Also discuss the best type of exercise you can do with your dr and get as active as possible.
Best regards
