contraceptives while breadfeeding

Hi, I have a seven months old baby and i am breadfeeding. My gynae put me on an evra patch 4 months ago and a friend of mine has just told me that you can not use it when you are breadfeeding?

Is this true? what impact does it have to the baby?

Correct. It does not affect the baby but may dry up your breast milk and increases the risk of clots in you.
