Firstly, though, very few people actually need 8 hours' sleep - the average is probably closer to 7 1/2.
Also, please bear in mind that it is perfectly normal to wake every 90 minutes or so - everyone does it - they just don't remember doing it.
The real issue is how you are feeling during the day. If you are feeling OK, then you are getting adequate sleep. If you are not feeling OK, then there are various techniques which a sleep doctor can show you to help you get to sleep more easily.
