Complications between 2 HIV-positive partners

If both partners are HIV Positive, can they still effect each other or will there be complications? Should they still use protection?

i have had unprotected sex for 3 years now with an hiv-positive woman and have not been infected. is there a reason ?

You will have to use protection. One partner may have a higher HIV count than the other which will in turn affect the other partner.
