Dear Mira
Tripe is healthy and is a source of protein, B vitamins and minerals. According to the SA Food Tables tripe cooked in milk contains 418 kJ of energy and 4.5g of fat per 100g, so it contains less fat than steak for example (8,8 g/100g). Tripe is usually the stomach of a bovine animal such as a sheep or cow.
